<![CDATA[<body><span class="kopje">Lefthand Freddy </span> <p><strong>Lefthand Freddy has by now
become an institute in Holland but also abroad considering the many
international praises in the foreign
media. With a record contract in hand the band was formed in 1992.Their
first cd “Buried in blues” met with good reviews right
from the start:</strong></p>
<p><em>(blues magazine ) Block wrote: “ top notch authentic blues that
should make every Dutchman proud” .</em></p>
<p><em>Dagblad v.h. Noorden: “Fred Reining should be classified as being
one of the most original blues artists, he is by far the most creative
blues guitarist in the country”.</em></p>
<p><em>Second cd “Blue Tonight ” was applauded even more,</em></p>
<p><em>(leading music magazine) Oor dropped the following lines:<br>
This much praised band does not rehash worn out classics but write their
own intimate songs.<br>
Songs in which they fuse, in a very personal style, the boogie spirit
of John Lee Hooker with the lazy backbeat of Jimmy Reed .</em></p>
<p><em>With a growing live reputation a live cd was the next logical step;<br>
by the end of 1995 Out on the road (recorded live in Germany) was released
and again the press reviews were ecstatic :</em></p>

<p class="broodtekst">Founding members <strong>Cynthio Ooms</strong> (previously
playing bass for a.o <strong>Eddy
C. Campbell, Phil Guy, R.L. Burnside, Eddy “Guitar” Burns</strong> and
the Dutch renowned <strong>B.J.
Hegen bluesband</strong>) and <strong>Fred Reining</strong> were complemented
in 1996, after drummer <strong>Willem Drenth </strong>left, by <strong>Hannes
Langkamp</strong> (ex <strong>Muskee,
Time Bandits and Fox the Fox</strong>) and Hammond animal and popular
session player <strong>William Kooistra</strong>.
Through them the band sound was elaborated and professionalised .</p>
<p>New songs were matured live for a long time and a new cd was therefore
delayed for quite some time but ultimately saw the light of day in 2001
bearing the title “Urban Blues Adventures”. From day one
the band is a popular guest abroad (notably in Germany and Belgium). Some
tour highlights were concert spots on the Leberkusener Jazzfestival (Germany), The Gloucester Bluesfestival (GB), the Nuit de Blues(France), the Sviget
Festival (Hungary) and a London debut in the legendary 100 club.</p>

smeuïge Hammond. The steady following of fans are again craving for a
new (live?) cd
but they will have to be a bit more patient.<br>
